Classes at Studio B.

We offer classes in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Acro, and Contemporary. Dancers ages 3 through adults are welcome to take classes. Studio B. offers classes for the novice to the competitor.

ACRO

These classes combine acrobatics and floor gymnastics with classical dance movements. Acro (acrobatics/tumbling) is centered on fundamental acrobatic technique to increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence. Classes focus on proper hand placement and body alignment with emphasis on the muscles and flexibility required to perform proper technique.We offer classes for elementary and middle-school aged students. Tumbling is offered for our smallest age group.

BALLET

Ballet focuses on exercises, techniques and steps of classical ballet with an emphasis on terminology and correct body alignment. Dancers will develop an aesthetic awareness of the art of classical ballet. Students will continue to build upon fundamental ballet terminology with a focus on fostering strength, flexibility, and balance. Students will learn to become more confident dancers and develop a deeper understanding of both the structure of a traditional ballet class as well as ballet culture.

CONTEMPORARY

Characterized by its versatility, Contemporary dance can be danced to any style of music and united with other dance forms to create a new style of movement. Students learn to use their bodies in a variety of ways. Technique, body alignment, and emotion are essential to establishing a mind-body connection. Contemporary dance features a wide variety of dance techniques, reflecting its melting pot nature. Students in our contemporary classes learn an expressive style of dance that incorporates many elements and styles of dance.

TAP

Tap dance uses the sound of the tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. Tap dance sharpens reflexes and improves memory skills and coordination. Beginning classes will work toward establishing fundamental tap movements, vocabulary and will work on basic rhythms and steps that progress into fun and lively dance combinations. More advanced classes will involve more intricate rhythms and combinations. Tap dancing is a great way to develop musicality, timing and balance.

HIP-HOP

Hip-Hop is a high-energy dance form using the latest music mixed with movements that are influenced by some of today’s top video choreographers. Hip Hop is a broad collection of urban street dance styles including breaking, popping, locking, turfing, jerkin and krumping and often incorporates elements of freestlying. Classes will provide a structured method of learning various styles of movement in a fun and vibrant environment. Each class will incorporate dance combinations and routines and will encourage individual expression and personal style. 

JAZZ

Jazz dance is an exploration of style and presentation. Rooted in the rhythm of jazz music, jazz dance is a true American art form. Includes a warm-up that develops strength, flexibility, coordination, and dance techniques specific to jazz dance. Includes dynamic choreography set to popular music and encourages individual expression and development of personal style.

  • 4:25pm-5:10pm Stretch & Strength

    Elevate your leaps and extensions with our dynamic stretching class, designed to enhance mobility, strength, and flexibility. You'll work through progressions that target key skills such as needles, bow and arrows, tilts, développés, and battements. Our focus on safe and effective mobility and strength drills ensures you build the power and control needed for these advanced movements.

    Requirements: A multi-loop stretch band is essential for this class.

    5:15pm-6pm Acro Hop ages 5-7

    This class will explore movement using a combination of gymnastic and hip hop movements. We will use mats in addition to other Acro equipment during the gymnastics portion of class and will explore creative movements relating them to Hip-Hop dance. Please wear comfortable/athletic clothing. Barefoot is recommended.

    This class will perform in the Winter (January) recital and Spring (May) recital.

    6:15pm-7pm Acro Hop ages 8-12

    This class will explore movement using a combination of gymnastic and hip hop movements. We will use mats in addition to other Acro equipment during the gymnastics portion of class and will explore movements relating them to Hip-Hop dance. Please wear comfortable/athletic clothing. Barefoot is recommended.

    This class will perform in the Winter (January) recital and Spring (May) recital.

  • 4:15pm-5pm Turns, Leaps, & Jumps ages 7-11

    This energetic class is designed to help young dancers build a strong foundation in turns, leaps, and jumps. Through fun and engaging exercises, students will learn proper technique, improve coordination, and develop the strength and flexibility needed to execute these skills with confidence. From practicing clean pirouettes to improving leaps, dancers will be guided through age-appropriate drills that make learning both effective and enjoyable.

    4:30pm-5:05pm Creative Movement ages 3-4

    This delightful introductory dance class is tailored for 3 and 4-year-olds, offering a fun and engaging way for children to discover fundamental body movements and directional commands that lay the groundwork for beginning ballet technique. Through creative movement, young dancers will explore concepts such as up and down, side to side, and basic rhythms, while also being introduced to essential ballet vocabulary. To make learning even more enjoyable, we incorporate props and dance-focused games, sparking an early love for dance in your little one.

    This class will proudly perform in both a Winter recital (January) and a Spring recital (May).

  • 4:45pm-5:30pm Combo Dance Class Grades 2-3

    This class offers an excellent opportunity for dancers to further develop their skills in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. Designed to build upon the foundational techniques and introduce more intermediate elements, this class allows dancers to expand their repertoire and deepen their understanding of dance vocabulary.

    This class will perform in the Winter (January) and Spring (May) recitals.

    5:15pm-6pm Hip-Hop Grades 4-6

    Get ready to move with our high-energy Hip-Hop dance class! This dynamic class offers a structured approach to learning a variety of Hip-Hop styles in a fun and vibrant environment. Each session features engaging dance combinations and techniques that encourage individual expression and personal style.

    Please wear comfortable, athletic clothing and athletic shoes (Please note: shoes should only be worn in the studio—no street shoes allowed.) This class will perform at both the Winter recital (January) and the Spring recital (May).

    5:45pm-6:30pm Combo Dance Class Grades 4-6

    This class is a great way for your dancer to continue to develop their skills in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap dance. This class is designed to allow dancers to expand upon foundation for beginning/intermediate dance technique and continue to learn dance vocabulary. Please wear dance appropriate clothing. Dancers will need tap shoes and jazz shoes.

    This class will be performing at the Winter (January) and Spring (May) recitals.

  • 4:15pm-5pm Combo Dance Class Grades K-1

    This class offers a wonderful opportunity for your Kindergarten or 1st-grade dancer to develop their skills in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. Designed to build upon foundational techniques and introduce intermediate elements, this class helps dancers grow in their understanding of dance vocabulary while enhancing their overall technique.

    Please wear dance-appropriate clothing. Tap shoes and jazz shoes are required

    Your dancer will have the chance to showcase their progress at both the Winter recital (January) and the Spring recital (May).

    4:30pm-5:15pm Combo Dance Class ages 4-5

    This class is a great way for your little dancer to continue to develop their skills in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap dance. This class is designed to allow beginner dancers to build a foundation for beginning dance technique and learn dance vocabulary.

    Please wear dance appropriate clothing. Dancers will need tap shoes and jazz shoes.

    This class will be performing at the Winter (January) and Spring (May) recitals.

    5pm-5:35pm Creative Movement ages 2-3

    An introductory dance class for 2 and 3 year olds designed to allow children to discover fundamental body movements and directional commands necessary to set the foundation for beginning ballet technique. We explore body movements such as up and down and side to side in creative movement we begin exploring rhythms and beats in music, as well as introduce basic ballet vocabulary. Props are often used along with dance-focused games in order to ignite an early love for dance in your little one!

    This class will perform in a Winter (January) and Spring (May) recital.

    5:45pm-6:30pm Turns, Leaps & Jumps ages 12+

    This energetic class is designed to help advanced dancers build an even stronger foundation in turns, leaps, and jumps. Through fun and engaging exercises, students will learn proper technique, improve coordination, and develop the strength and flexibility needed to execute these skills with confidence. From practicing clean pirouettes to improving leaps, dancers will be guided through age-appropriate drills that make learning both effective and enjoyable. Dancers will utilize balls, bands, and drills for strengthening the building blocks that help dancers to become excellent turners, leapers, and jumpers.

Classes are held Mondays - Thursdays and on a variety of Saturdays. The cost of classes ranges depending on time and frequency of the class.
