Be moved.
Be you.

Studio B.

Studio B. is a dance studio that encourages and facilitates the physical and artistic growth within the disciplines of dance and movement for all ages that are inspired to be moved. We are located in Sartell, MN, and provide classes year-round. We offer a school year session, summer session, shorter sessions, pop-up classes, and workshops.

Classes

  • Acro

These classes combine acrobatics and floor gymnastics with classical dance movements. Acro (acrobatics/tumbling) is centered on fundamental acrobatic technique to increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence. Classes focus on proper hand placement and body alignment with emphasis on the muscles and flexibility required to perform proper technique. We offer classes for elementary and middle-school aged students. Tumbling is offered for our smallest age group.

  • Ballet

Ballet focuses on exercises, techniques and steps of classical ballet with an emphasis on terminology and correct body alignment. Dancers will develop an aesthetic awareness of the art of classical ballet. Students will continue to build upon fundamental ballet terminology with a focus on fostering strength, flexibility, and balance. Students will learn to become more confident dancers and develop a deeper understanding of both the structure of a traditional ballet class as well as ballet culture.

  • Contemporary

Characterized by its versatility, Contemporary dance can be danced to any style of music and united with other dance forms to create a new style of movement. Students learn to use their bodies in a variety of ways. Technique, body alignment, and emotion are essential to establishing a mind-body connection. Contemporary dance features a wide variety of dance techniques, reflecting its melting pot nature. Students in our contemporary classes learn an expressive style of dance that incorporates many elements and styles of dance.

  • Tap

Tap dance uses the sound of the tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. Tap dance sharpens reflexes and improves memory skills and coordination. Beginning classes will work toward establishing fundamental tap movements, vocabulary and will work on basic rhythms and steps that progress into fun and lively dance combinations. More advanced classes will involve more intricate rhythms and combinations. Tap dancing is a great way to develop musicality, timing and balance.

  • Hip-Hop

Hip-Hop is a high-energy dance form using the latest music mixed with movements that are influenced by some of today’s top video choreographers. Hip Hop is a broad collection of urban street dance styles including breaking, popping, locking, turfing, jerkin and krumping and often incorporates elements of freestlying. Classes will provide a structured method of learning various styles of movement in a fun and vibrant environment. Each class will incorporate dance combinations and routines and will encourage individual expression and personal style.

  • Jazz

Jazz dance is an exploration of style and presentation. Rooted in the rhythm of jazz music, jazz dance is a true American art form. Includes a warm-up that develops strength, flexibility, coordination, and dance techniques specific to jazz dance. Includes dynamic choreography set to popular music and encourages individual expression and development of personal style.

Competition

At Studio B. we have Competition Teams for those interested in competing. Dancers audition in the Spring or by appointment. The season starts in June and finishes in May. Dancers attend at least three competitions and several conventions. Time commitment can vary from 3 days a week for 2-3 hours each day.

Our experienced instructors are here for you every step of the way. We will encourage you and help you reach your full potential. Each instructor has extensive experience in different areas of dance.

Instructors

Our Students Love Studio B.
(And, the feeling is mutual!)

  • “From the moment we walked into the studio we felt a part of the Studio B family! Very friendly, welcoming and everyone (all the coaches, Catie, Charlie, and even Ruby) really truly cares for each and every one of the dancers.”

    The McGuires

  • “Studio B. has been a wonderful and supportive place to get back into dancing as a young adult. I took beginning/intermediate adult tap with Amber for about a year and the class size more than doubled while I was there. I highly recommend Studio B. for adult and kids classes alike!”
